COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Human Resource Management (HRM) curriculum provides a comprehensive and professionally focused understanding of people management, organizational development, and strategic HR practices. Students begin by exploring HRM in the Changing Business Context, examining how internal, external, ethical, and business environments influence organizational and HR decisions while critically evaluating contemporary HR debates, HR functions, and professional roles. Organisational Culture and Change Management develops knowledge of ethical behavior, diversity, inclusion, leadership, and the role of HR in creating positive workplace cultures and implementing successful organizational change initiatives. Workforce Planning and Resourcing focuses on attracting, retaining, motivating, engaging, rewarding, and managing employees while applying strategic HR tools such as recruitment, selection, performance management, diversity management, and workforce planning to support organizational objectives. Strategic Workforce Development examines learning and development strategies, employee engagement, coaching, mentoring, leadership effectiveness, and professional standards, enabling students to understand how HR professionals contribute to organizational growth and employee performance. Managing the Employment Relationship provides an in-depth understanding of employee relations, engagement, commitment, employee voice, trade unions, and employment policies from both national and international perspectives, helping students critically assess approaches to maintaining positive employer-employee relationships. Throughout the program, Business Research and Professional Skills strengthens research capabilities, analytical thinking, self-evaluation, and professional competencies sought by employers, preparing students for advanced academic and workplace challenges. The course culminates in a Consultancy Project, where students collaborate in small teams on a real-life business assignment for a local organization, applying HR knowledge, project management techniques, and problem-solving skills to address practical organizational issues. This hands-on experience develops critical thinking, research expertise, teamwork, communication, and consultancy capabilities while bridging theory and practice. Overall, the program equips students with advanced HR knowledge, strategic decision-making abilities, ethical awareness, research competence, and practical experience, preparing graduates for successful careers in human resources, recruitment, employee relations, learning and development, consultancy, and broader people management roles within national and international organizations.
