COURSE CURRICULUM

The Engineering Management curriculum is designed to develop a strong combination of technical awareness, business knowledge, leadership capability, and project management expertise for careers in engineering and technology-driven industries. Students begin with a Group Design Project, where they work collaboratively on cross-disciplinary engineering challenges based on emerging and advanced technologies, enhancing teamwork, problem-solving, and technical decision-making skills. Business Operations and Reliability Management focuses on understanding how operational systems function efficiently, examining reliability, productivity, quality, and the management of resources required to meet customer demand. Global Business Management introduces the complexities of international business, including global supply chains, international marketing, finance, manufacturing, distribution, and the integration of these functions to achieve strategic objectives in a competitive global marketplace. Entrepreneurial Leadership and Project Management develops leadership and entrepreneurial capabilities while teaching essential project management tools, methodologies, planning techniques, risk assessment, and strategies for successfully delivering projects and driving innovation. The New Business Venture module strengthens entrepreneurial thinking by guiding students through the identification of business opportunities, strategic planning, market evaluation, and the development of comprehensive business plans for industrial and technology-focused enterprises. Research Methods equips students with the skills required to conduct professional research, covering literature reviews, research design, ethical considerations, data collection techniques, quantitative and qualitative analysis, and the use of relevant software tools for research and decision-making. The programme culminates in the Individual Industrial or Research Project, a substantial capstone project where students apply the knowledge and skills gained throughout the degree to investigate a real engineering or industrial problem, develop and implement solutions, critically evaluate outcomes, and demonstrate professional communication, organization, and management abilities. This project also supports continuous professional development and prepares students for lifelong learning. Collectively, these modules provide a balanced blend of engineering awareness, business strategy, operational management, entrepreneurship, leadership, research, and project execution skills. Graduates are well prepared for careers in engineering management, operations management, project management, manufacturing, technology consulting, business development, supply chain management, entrepreneurship, and leadership roles within engineering and industrial organizations worldwide.
