The Individual Industrial or Research Project serves as the major capstone component of the degree, allowing students to apply the knowledge and skills gained throughout the programme to solve a real engineering problem, develop and implement solutions, critically evaluate outcomes, and strengthen professional communication, project management, and self-organisation abilities. Cellular Networks and Internet of Things focuses on modern communication infrastructures and connected devices, covering cellular technologies, networking protocols, IoT architectures, system deployment, and the design and management of cellular-based IoT solutions used in smart cities, industrial automation, healthcare, transportation, and other emerging applications. Advanced Digital Signal Processing develops a deep understanding of signal analysis and processing techniques, including spectral analysis, statistical signal processing, adaptive filtering, and practical DSP applications used in telecommunications, multimedia systems, automation, and intelligent technologies. Embedded Systems and Sensors provides hands-on knowledge of designing reliable embedded systems and integrating sensor technologies for applications such as robotics, automation, smart devices, industrial monitoring, and Internet of Things environments. Wireless Communications explores the principles, technologies, limitations, and design considerations of modern wireless communication systems, enabling students to analyse, simulate, and develop solutions for mobile, wireless, and networked communication environments. The Group Design Project encourages collaboration on multidisciplinary engineering challenges based on emerging technologies, helping students strengthen teamwork, innovation, technical problem-solving, leadership, and project development skills. Collectively, these modules provide advanced expertise in communication networks, IoT technologies, embedded systems, wireless communications, digital signal processing, engineering design, and applied research. Graduates gain a combination of technical, analytical, and managerial skills that prepare them for careers in telecommunications, wireless networking, IoT development, embedded systems engineering, automation, smart technologies, research and development, systems engineering, and technology management, while also providing a strong foundation for further professional and academic advancement in rapidly evolving engineering and technology sectors.
