The MSc Data Science programme is structured around a series of modules that provide students with the technical, analytical, and research skills required to succeed in the rapidly evolving field of data science. Fundamentals of Big Data and Its Infrastructure introduces the technologies, architectures, and systems used to store, manage, and process large-scale datasets, providing a foundation for modern data-driven applications. Introduction to Computer Programming develops essential programming skills that enable students to manipulate data, automate processes, and build analytical solutions. Statistical Data Analysis and Visualisation focuses on the application of statistical methods to interpret data and communicate insights effectively through visual representations. Deriving Business Value from Data Analytics explores how organisations can use data-driven insights to improve decision-making, increase efficiency, and create competitive advantages. Applied Artificial Intelligence examines the practical implementation of AI and machine learning techniques to solve real-world problems and generate predictive insights.
