COURSE CURRICULUM

The LLB (Hons) Law Senior Status curriculum is an intensive two-year programme designed to provide graduates with a comprehensive legal education while developing the practical and professional skills required for a successful legal career. In Year 1, students establish a strong foundation in key areas of law through modules covering public law, contract law, tort law, legal reasoning, legal research, and the legal and professional environment. They also explore international, European, and comparative law while developing presentation, problem-solving, and academic skills. Additional modules focus on practical legal applications and effective study techniques, ensuring students are well prepared for the demands of accelerated legal study. In Year 2, students advance their legal knowledge through core modules in criminal law, land law, trusts, and applied legal knowledge in civil practice, which provide valuable insight into legal procedures and professional practice. Students also personalise their studies by selecting from optional modules focused on professional development, including either Law in Practice or Path to Professional Practice. Further optional choices allow students to specialise in areas such as commercial law, employment law, family law, public international law, or independent legal research. The combination of foundational legal knowledge, practical training, and specialist study equips graduates with strong analytical, research, advocacy, and problem-solving skills, preparing them for further legal training and a wide range of careers within the legal profession and related sectors.
