COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Hons) Sport Science and Management programme combines sport science with business and management principles, providing students with the knowledge and skills required to succeed in the dynamic sports industry. In Year 1, students build a strong foundation by studying sport and exercise physiology, sport and exercise psychology, business environments, sport culture and society, and essential academic and research skills. This combination enables students to understand both the scientific and organisational aspects of sport. In Year 2, the focus shifts towards the practical application of management concepts through modules such as Work Integrated Learning in Sport Management, Strategic Management and Economic Analysis, Sports Marketing and CRM Systems, and Data-Driven Analysis and Communication. Students can also deepen their understanding of sport science through optional modules in applied physiology, sport psychology, or the sociology of sport, health, and the body. In Year 3, students undertake an independent Sport Project and Dissertation while studying Entrepreneurship and Enterprise and Economics and Finance in the Sport and Leisure Industry. Further optional modules allow specialisation in areas such as sustainability and social justice in sport, advanced sport psychology, strength and conditioning, talent development, event management, and contemporary issues in sport. This diverse curriculum develops scientific understanding, business expertise, leadership abilities, and analytical skills, preparing graduates for careers in sports management, marketing, event coordination, business development, and the wider sport and leisure sector.
