COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Hons) Sound Engineering and Audio Production programme provides a structured learning journey that develops both technical expertise and professional industry skills across three years. In Year 1, students build a strong foundation in audio production through modules such as Pro Tools Techniques, Sound Design, Recording Production Techniques, Audio Production Theory and Application, Sound to Visual Media, and The Recording Studio. These modules introduce key recording, editing, production, and sound design concepts while developing practical studio skills. In Year 2, students advance their knowledge through specialist modules including Audio Post Production, Mixing and Mastering, Acoustic Theory and Application, and Your Sound and Music Industry, while also engaging in research and experimentation through collaborative projects. A range of optional modules allows students to tailor their studies to areas such as music video production, live streaming, festival and event management, journalism, digital audio music production, or live sound technologies. In Year 3, the focus shifts towards professional practice and future career development through Industry Briefs, Spatial Audio, and Future Pathways. Students complete a major Final Capstone Project, beginning with preproduction planning and culminating in a substantial industry-focused project that demonstrates their technical, creative, and professional capabilities, preparing them for successful careers in the audio, music, and wider creative industries.
