COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Hons) Sound Engineering and Audio Production programme offers a comprehensive curriculum that develops technical, creative, and professional skills across three years of study. In Year 1, students establish a strong foundation in audio production through modules such as Pro Tools Techniques, Sound Design, Recording Production Techniques, Audio Production Theory and Application, Sound to Visual Media, and The Recording Studio. These modules introduce essential recording, editing, mixing, and sound design practices while providing practical experience in professional studio environments. In Year 2, students deepen their expertise through advanced subjects including Audio Post Production, Mixing and Mastering, Acoustic Theory and Application, and Your Sound and Music Industry, while also engaging in collaborative research and experimentation projects. Optional modules allow students to explore specialist interests such as live sound technologies, festival and music events management, and creative entrepreneurship. In Year 3, the programme focuses on professional development and industry engagement through modules such as Industry Briefs, Spatial Audio, and Future Pathways. Students complete a major Final Capstone Project, beginning with detailed preproduction planning and progressing to the execution of a substantial independent project. This final stage enables students to demonstrate their technical knowledge, creativity, problem-solving abilities, and professional readiness, preparing them for successful careers within the audio, music, media, and wider creative industries.
