COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Hons) Real Estate curriculum provides a structured pathway into the property industry, combining technical knowledge, financial understanding, and professional practice. In Year 1, students build a strong foundation through Surveying Skills 1 and 2, Construction 1, Planning and Land Use, Economics and Valuation, and Law. These modules introduce core principles of property surveying, construction processes, land use planning, economic theory, valuation techniques, and legal frameworks that underpin the real estate sector. In Year 2, students expand their knowledge with Property Management and Agency, Property Law, Employability and Commercial Awareness, Development and Planning, Real Estate Economics, and Valuation. This stage focuses on understanding property markets, legal responsibilities, development processes, and the economic factors influencing real estate decisions, while also developing professional and employability skills. In Year 3, students specialise through advanced modules including Investment Appraisal and Valuation, Corporate Real Estate 1 and 2, Property Investment 1 and 2, and a Research Project. These modules allow students to analyse investment opportunities, manage corporate property portfolios, and evaluate real estate strategies in complex market conditions. Throughout the program, students develop strong analytical, commercial, and decision-making skills, along with a deep understanding of property markets and investment principles. Graduates are well prepared for careers in real estate, property management, investment, valuation, consultancy, and corporate property roles within the wider built environment sector.
