COURSE CURRICULUM

The Nursing curriculum is designed to provide a structured and progressive learning experience that prepares students for professional nursing practice over three years of study. In Year 1, students develop a strong foundation through modules such as Introduction to Nursing Practice, Integrative Nursing Practice, and Foundations of Applied Nursing Practice. These modules introduce essential nursing principles, professional values, communication skills, and the fundamentals of delivering safe, person-centered care. The Practice Assessment: Year One enables students to apply their knowledge in clinical settings and begin developing practical competence. In Year 2, students expand their understanding through Evidence in Nursing Practice, Biopsychosocial Approaches in Nursing Practice, and Applied Nursing Practice in Complex Care. These modules focus on evidence-based healthcare, the interaction of biological, psychological, and social factors in patient wellbeing, and the management of increasingly complex healthcare needs. Practice Assessment: Year Two evaluates students’ ability to apply theory effectively in professional practice. In Year 3, the curriculum focuses on advanced nursing skills, leadership, and service improvement through modules such as Innovating and Improving Healthcare Practice, Leadership in Nursing, and Managing Applied Nursing Care. Students learn to lead healthcare initiatives, manage complex patient care, and contribute to improving healthcare services. The final Practice Assessment confirms readiness for registration and professional nursing practice in diverse healthcare environments.
