COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Hons) Event Production programme develops students’ technical and practical skills for working in the live events industry, with a strong focus on hands-on learning in professional environments. In the first year, students build foundational knowledge through modules such as Sound Technology Fundamentals, Lighting Technology Fundamentals, Event Operations Passport, Sound Technology Operations, Lighting Technology Operations, and Equipment, Maintenance & Repair. These modules introduce essential skills in operating and maintaining professional audio and lighting systems used in live events. In the second year, students progress to more advanced learning through Live Event Industry Practice, Production Delivery, and AV Data Networking, alongside a Co Lab module that encourages research, experimentation, and creative problem-solving. Students can also choose optional modules such as Podcast Production for Beginners, Live Streaming and Broadcast Fundamentals, Festival and Music Events Management, Sound Design for Visual Media, Digital Audio Music Production, and Journalism for the Creative Industries, allowing them to broaden their technical and creative expertise. In the final year, students undertake a Creative Technology Lab, Industry Briefs, and a Final Capstone Project developed through preproduction and production stages, supported by Future Pathways planning for careers. Across the course, students gain practical experience working with industry-standard equipment and real-world production scenarios, preparing them for careers in live event production, sound engineering, lighting design, technical direction, broadcast support, and wider roles within the creative and entertainment industries.
