COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Hons) Event Production (London) programme equips students with the practical and technical skills needed to succeed in the live events industry, combining hands-on training with theoretical understanding. In the first year, students build a strong foundation through modules such as Sound Technology Fundamentals, Lighting Technology Fundamentals, Event Operations Passport, Sound Technology Operations, Lighting Technology Operations, and Equipment, Maintenance & Repair. These introduce essential skills in operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting professional audio and lighting systems used in live productions. In the second year, students advance their knowledge through Live Event Industry Practice, Production Delivery, and AV Data Networking, supported by a Co Lab module that encourages research, experimentation, and creative risk-taking. Students can also select optional modules such as Creative Entrepreneurship, Festival and Music Events Management, and Sound Design for Visual Media, allowing them to tailor their learning towards specific career interests. In the final year, students undertake a Creative Technology Lab and work on Industry Briefs while completing a Final Capstone Project developed through preproduction and production stages. They also explore Future Pathways to prepare for employment in the industry. Throughout the course, students gain experience using industry-standard equipment and working in real-world production environments, often in collaboration with other creative disciplines. This prepares graduates for careers in live event production, including roles in sound engineering, lighting design, technical production, stage management, and broader positions within the entertainment and events sector.
