COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Hons) Computing programme is structured to provide a progressive learning experience across three years, developing both technical knowledge and professional skills. In the first year, students build a strong foundation in computing through modules such as Foundations of Computer Programming, Foundations of Computer Technology and Mathematics, Web-based Programming, Internet Technology, Systems Analysis and Design (SAD), and Academic and Professional Development. These modules introduce essential programming concepts, technical principles, and problem-solving skills required for further study. In the second year, students advance their knowledge through Information Systems Development, Information and Database Engineering, Internet Application Development, Interaction Design, Practical Project Management and Professional Development, and Digital 3D. These subjects focus on designing and developing information systems, managing databases, creating interactive applications, and gaining project management experience. The third year emphasises specialised and applied learning, with core modules including a major Project, Information Systems Management, Mobile Platform Development, and Data Visualisation and User Experience (UX). Students also have the opportunity to tailor their studies by choosing an optional module in either Serious Games or Virtual Reality, allowing them to explore emerging technologies and innovative digital experiences. Throughout the programme, students develop practical, analytical, and professional competencies that prepare them for careers in software development, information systems, user experience design, mobile computing, and other technology-related fields.
