COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Hons) Music Production (London) curriculum develops students into skilled, creative, and industry-ready music producers through a structured blend of technical training, creative exploration, and professional development. In Year 1, students build essential foundations in recording studio practice, digital audio workstation techniques, composing and arranging, vocal production, music for media, and commercial production techniques. These modules introduce core production skills while helping students understand how music is created and shaped for different professional contexts. In Year 2, students deepen their technical and artistic abilities through modules focused on mixing, mastering, electronic production, sound design, and production music. A collaborative research module encourages experimentation and creative risk-taking, allowing students to refine their individual style. Students also study the music industry and can choose optional modules such as live sound technologies, festival and events management, and creative entrepreneurship to tailor their learning towards specific career interests. In Year 3, students focus on professional preparation through industry briefs, future career pathways, and a major capstone project supported by pre-production planning. They also explore emerging technologies to stay aligned with evolving industry practices.
