COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Hons) Interior Architecture and Design programme is structured to progressively develop students’ creative, technical, and professional capabilities over three years of study. In Year 1, students establish a strong foundation through modules such as Design and Professional Skills 1, Design and Technology 1, Interior Architecture and Design in Context 1, and IAD Design Studio 1. These modules introduce key design principles, technical knowledge, professional practices, and contextual understanding while encouraging creative exploration and practical studio work. In Year 2, students build on these fundamentals through more advanced study in Design and Professional Skills 2, Design and Technology 2, Interior Architecture and Design in Context 2, and IAD Design Studio 2. This stage focuses on developing design confidence, critical thinking, technical competence, and the ability to respond to increasingly complex design challenges. In the final year, students refine their expertise through Design and Technology 3, Design and Professional Skills 3, and IAD Design Studio 3, while undertaking an independent Research Project that allows them to investigate a topic of personal and professional interest. The programme culminates with students exhibiting their work as part of the Student Showcase, providing an opportunity to present their achievements to industry professionals and the wider public. Together, these modules prepare graduates for successful careers in interior architecture and design.
