COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Hons) Games Art – London programme develops students’ creative, technical, and professional skills for careers in the video game and digital entertainment industries. In the first year, students build foundational knowledge through modules such as Games Studies, Principles of Screen Arts, Introducing 2D Digital Art, and Introducing 3D Digital Art. These introduce core artistic principles, digital workflows, and an understanding of games as a visual and narrative medium. In the second year, students progress their skills through either advanced 2D or 3D Digital Art, alongside core modules including Co Lab: Research, Exploration and Risk-taking and Games Art Studio, which encourage experimentation, collaboration, and creative development in a studio environment. Optional modules such as Character Ideation, Interactive Narrative, and Tabletop Game Development allow students to specialise and explore storytelling, design thinking, and game mechanics. In the final year, students focus on professional preparation and advanced production through Games Entrepreneurship, Screen Arts Collaboration, and a major Games Art Project. This stage emphasises industry readiness, teamwork, and portfolio development. The course combines artistic creativity with technical training, ensuring students gain experience with industry-standard tools and workflows. Graduates leave with a strong showreel demonstrating their artistic and technical abilities, preparing them for careers such as concept artist, 2D or 3D game artist, environment artist, or other roles within the games and digital media industries.
