COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Hons) Fashion Photography programme explores how fashion imagery is created, interpreted, and experienced in an increasingly digital and immersive visual culture. In the first year, students build a strong foundation through Fashion Behind the Lens, Fashion Beyond the Lens, and History, Context and Near-Future of Photography, which introduce essential technical, conceptual, and historical perspectives on photography and visual storytelling. In the second year, students develop their creative and professional practice through Co Lab: Research, Exploration and Risk-taking, Fashion Assignments, and Fashion Lab, where they experiment with ideas and refine their photographic skills. They also choose from optional modules such as Publishing: Experimental Formats, Telling Stories, Digital Marketing and Communication, Music Video, Beauty Industry: Innovation to Impact, Live Art / Collisions, Fashion Styling, and Virtual Production, allowing them to explore related creative industries and expand their visual practice. In the final year, students focus on advanced creative development through Sketchpad, Launchpad, and The Recent Past and Near Future of Creative Storytelling, where they refine their personal style and produce a professional body of work. Throughout the course, students are encouraged to experiment with new technologies, collaborate with other creative disciplines, and develop both conceptual and technical expertise. The programme prepares graduates for careers in fashion photography, visual storytelling, editorial and commercial photography, advertising, digital media, and other creative industries where image-making and visual communication are central.
