COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Hons) Event Management programme equips students with the knowledge and practical skills needed to plan, design, and deliver successful events across a wide range of industries. In the first year, students are introduced to the sector through modules such as Explore the Events Industry, Event Operations Passport, Marketing and Promotion in Events, Event Design and Practice 1, and the Event Manager Toolkit. These provide a foundation in event planning, organisation, and industry practices. In the second year, students build on this knowledge with more advanced study in Event Proposal and Preparation, Event Production, Event Design and Practice 2, and Research and Development in Sustainable Events. A Co Lab module encourages experimentation, research, and creative risk-taking. Optional modules such as Creative Live Event Production, Podcast Production for Beginners, Introduction to Live Sound Technologies, Live Streaming and Broadcast Fundamentals, Journalism for the Creative Industries, and Creative Entrepreneurship allow students to broaden their technical and creative skill sets. In the final year, students engage with Industry Briefs and explore Event Sales, Sponsorship and Revenue Streams while considering Future Pathways in the sector. They complete a Final Capstone Project through preproduction and production stages, demonstrating their ability to manage complex, real-world event scenarios. Across the course, students develop strong organisational, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, preparing them for careers in event planning, festival and venue management, corporate events, entertainment production, marketing, and wider roles within the global events industry.
