COURSE CURRICULUM

The International Hospitality and Tourism Management MSc with Advanced Practice is structured over two years to provide both academic knowledge and practical industry experience. In Year 1, students complete a combination of core and optional modules that build a strong foundation in the field. Core modules include Hospitality, Tourism and Globalisation, International Hospitality Management, Responsible Marketing Strategies in Tourism, Hospitality and Events, and Sustainable Tourism and Hospitality, which together develop an understanding of global industry practices and sustainable approaches. Research Methods and Analytics for Business Practice enhances analytical and research skills, while Academic Language Skills for Postgraduate Business Students supports international and EU learners. Students can also choose optional modules such as Entrepreneurship: Context, Process and Practice and Placemaking and Cultural Consumption to tailor their studies. In Year 2, the Advanced Practice stage focuses on applying knowledge in real-world contexts. Students complete a Business Clinic Postgraduate Group Consultancy Project, working on live industry challenges, and can choose from additional options such as an Applied Management Work Investigation, a Masters Dissertation, a Management Enquiry, or an Enterprise Project focused on a business start-up. This flexible structure ensures a balance of theoretical learning and practical application, preparing graduates for careers in the global hospitality and tourism industry.
