COURSE CURRICULUM

The International Finance and Investment MSc with Advanced Practice is structured over two years to combine advanced academic learning with practical experience. In Year 1, students complete core modules that build strong quantitative and analytical skills in finance. These include Financial Econometrics and Forecasting I and II, which develop expertise in statistical modelling and forecasting, and International Financial Markets and Institutions, which examines global financial systems. Investments and Risk Management focuses on portfolio strategies and risk analysis, while Contemporary Issues in Sustainability explores the role of sustainability in finance. Research Methods and Analytics for Business Practice enhances research and data analysis capabilities, and Academic Language Skills for Postgraduate Business Students supports international and EU learners in developing academic communication. In Year 2, the Advanced Practice stage allows students to apply their knowledge in real-world contexts. All students complete a Business Clinic Postgraduate Group Consultancy Project, working on live business challenges. In addition, they can choose from options such as an Applied Management Work Investigation, a Masters Dissertation, or a Management Enquiry, each worth 60 credits. This flexible structure ensures a balance of theoretical knowledge and practical application, preparing graduates for careers in finance, investment, and quantitative research.
