COURSE CURRICULUM

The Electrical Power Engineering MSc is structured over two years, combining core technical knowledge with practical and professional development. In the first year, students study a range of core modules that build a strong foundation in renewable energy and modern power systems. These include Technology Entrepreneurship and Product Development, which fosters innovation and business awareness, as well as Wind Energy Conversion Systems and Photovoltaic System Technology, which focus on sustainable energy generation. Additional modules such as Renewable Energy Technologies for Electricity Supply, Power Electronics and Drive Systems, and Smart Grids provide in-depth knowledge of advanced power systems and their integration. International and EU students also benefit from an Academic Language Skills module to enhance technical communication. In the second year, students undertake a substantial MSc Engineering Project, allowing them to apply their learning to a real-world engineering challenge through independent research. This is complemented by an Advanced Practice Semester, where students gain valuable industry or research experience, further developing practical skills and employability. Overall, the program offers a balanced blend of theory, application, and professional experience, preparing graduates to contribute effectively to the development of sustainable and innovative electrical power systems.
