COURSE CURRICULUM

The Electrical and Electronic Engineering MSc with Advanced Practice is structured over two years to provide both theoretical knowledge and practical experience in the field. In the first year, students study core modules including Technology Entrepreneurship and Product Development, Advanced Embedded System Design Technology, Digital Design Automation, and Analogue Electronic Design, which build essential skills in designing and developing complex engineering systems. Optional modules such as Wireless Communication Systems, Power Electronics and Drive Systems, Smart Grids, and Networks and Machine Learning allow students to tailor their learning to specific interests and emerging technologies. Academic Language Skills support international and EU students in developing effective communication within technical contexts. The first year combines lectures, laboratory work, and project-based learning, emphasizing hands-on experience with industry-standard equipment and software. In the second year, students undertake the MSc Engineering Project, which provides an opportunity to apply their knowledge to a substantial research or design challenge, further developing problem-solving, project management, and analytical skills. Additionally, the Advanced Practice semester allows students to work with external clients on real-world projects, gaining valuable industry experience and professional skills. This combination of rigorous academic study, practical application, and industry engagement ensures graduates are well-prepared for careers in electrical and electronic engineering, research, or advanced study.
