COURSE CURRICULUM

The Construction Project Management with BIM MSc with Advanced Practice is a two-year program designed to provide students with comprehensive knowledge and practical experience in modern construction management. In Year 1, students study core modules that develop both technical and managerial skills essential for the construction industry. Research Methods equips students with tools for academic and professional investigation, while Building Information Modelling Management, Theory and Practice teaches the principles and applications of BIM to enhance project efficiency. Procurement and Supply Chain Management focuses on coordinating materials and suppliers, and People in Project Management develops leadership, team collaboration, and communication skills. The Integrated Building Information Modelling Project allows students to apply BIM knowledge in a practical, project-based setting, linking design, construction, and operational processes. Construction Project Planning and Delivery teaches how to organise and manage complex projects from inception to completion. The Academic Language Skills module supports international and EU students in developing academic communication, though it carries no credits. In Year 2, students undertake the Advanced Practice Semester, gaining hands-on experience through live projects or applied research, alongside the 60-credit Research Project, which allows independent investigation into construction management challenges. Together, these modules provide a balanced combination of theoretical knowledge, technical expertise, and practical application, preparing graduates for successful careers in construction project management with an emphasis on BIM and industry best practices.
