COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Computing and Technology with Advanced Practice is a two-year program designed to provide students with advanced knowledge in computing, digital technologies, and IT leadership while enhancing career prospects through practical experience. In Year 1, students study core modules including Information Governance and Cyber Security, which covers data protection and security principles, and Leadership in a Digital Age, which develops skills in managing digital teams and projects. Principles of Software Engineering introduces structured approaches to software development, while Database and Analytics Principles focus on data management and analysis. Innovations in Business and Technology explores the application of emerging technologies in organisational contexts, and Contemporary Computing and Digital Technologies examines the latest trends and practices in the field. Students also complete the Professional Practices in Computing and Digital Technologies Project, a 60-credit module that allows them to apply their learning to a substantial practical project. In Year 2, students enter the Advanced Practice stage, selecting one of several 60-credit options such as a Consultancy Project, Research Project, Internship, Professional Skills Practice, Business Start-up, or Design Innovation. This stage provides valuable hands-on experience, enabling students to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world or research settings. Overall, the program combines academic study, practical application, and professional development to prepare graduates for diverse roles in IT, computing, and digital technology industries.
