COURSE CURRICULUM

The Computer Science with Advanced Practice MSc is a two-year program designed to provide a strong foundation in core computing areas along with valuable practical experience. In Year 1, students study key modules such as Database Modelling, which focuses on designing and managing data systems, and Object Oriented Programming, which develops essential coding skills. Systems Analysis and Design with UML helps students understand how to design software solutions, while Website Development and Deployment covers the creation of modern web applications. Computer Networks and Operating Systems provides knowledge of how systems communicate and function, and Research Methods and Project Management develops skills in planning, managing, and executing technical projects. International and EU students are also supported through the Academic Language Skills module, which carries no credits. In Year 2, students focus on applying their knowledge through the MSc Computer Science and Digital Technologies Project, a 60-credit independent project that addresses real-world computing challenges. In addition, the Advanced Practice Semester offers a 60-credit opportunity to gain practical experience, either through studying abroad or engaging in research activities. Overall, the program combines theoretical learning with hands-on experience, preparing students for successful careers in the computing and technology sector.
