COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Marketing program offers a combination of core and optional modules designed to build strong analytical, strategic, and professional skills. Core modules include Research Methods and Analytics for Business Practice, which develops data analysis and research capabilities, and Marketing Research and Analytics, focusing on gathering and interpreting market insights. Strategic Marketing for Sustainable Competitive Advantage examines how organisations create and maintain market success, while Developing Leadership Capability for Professional Practice enhances leadership and management skills. Academic Language Skills for Postgraduate Business Students, a non-credit module, supports international and EU students in improving academic communication. Students can tailor their learning through optional modules such as Branding, Contemporary Issues in Consumer Behaviour, and Global Consumers and Marketplaces, which explore specialised areas of marketing. For the final stage, students can choose between three major project options: the NBS Masters Consultancy Project, where they work with real organisations; the Newcastle Business School Masters Dissertation, which involves independent academic research; or the Masters’ Management Enquiry, offering a flexible research-based approach. Overall, the program combines theoretical knowledge with practical application, preparing students to address real-world marketing challenges and pursue careers in diverse marketing roles.
