COURSE CURRICULUM

The Human-Computer Interaction MSc curriculum is designed to provide a balanced combination of technical skills, theoretical knowledge, and practical application. Core modules include Programming with Python, which introduces essential coding skills, and Ethical and Responsible Computing, which focuses on the social and ethical implications of technology. Principles of HCI provides a foundation in user-centred design and interaction concepts, while Multimodal Interfaces explores different ways users interact with digital systems, such as touch, voice, and gesture. AI as a Design Material examines how artificial intelligence can be integrated into the design of interactive systems, and User Interaction and Usability Testing develops skills in evaluating and improving user experiences through testing and analysis. These modules collectively ensure that students understand both the technical and human aspects of computing. The program concludes with a 60-credit MSc Capstone Project, where students apply their knowledge to a substantial independent project, often addressing real-world challenges in human-computer interaction. This structure allows students to develop problem-solving, design, and research skills while building a portfolio of work. Overall, the course prepares graduates to create innovative, user-focused digital solutions and pursue careers in technology, design, and user experience fields.
