COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Healthcare Leadership and Management curriculum is structured to develop a strong foundation in leadership, management, and research within healthcare settings. Core modules include Research: Approaches, Methods and Skills, which equips students with essential research techniques and critical analysis abilities, and Strategic Management of Healthcare, which focuses on planning and managing healthcare organisations effectively. Leadership and Collaborative Working in Public Health and Healthcare emphasises teamwork and leadership in complex environments, while Developing Management and Leadership Competencies in Healthcare enhances practical skills needed for professional growth. Health Improvement: Behaviours, Practices, Interventions and Management explores strategies for promoting public health and improving patient outcomes through effective interventions. Students are also supported through Academic Language Skills for postgraduate health students, designed especially for international and EU learners to strengthen academic communication. The program culminates in a 60-credit Dissertation Project, allowing students to conduct in-depth research on a topic relevant to their professional interests. Overall, the course integrates theoretical knowledge, practical leadership skills, and research expertise, preparing graduates to take on managerial and leadership roles in healthcare organisations and contribute to improving health systems and services at both local and global levels.
