COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Global Logistics Operations and Supply Chain Management program is designed to equip students with a thorough understanding of global supply chains, logistics operations, and strategic management practices, with most modules carrying 20 credits and the masters dissertation worth 60 credits. Students begin with strategic supply chain relationship and innovation, which explores the development of collaborative partnerships, innovation strategies, and value creation across global supply networks. Global supply chain and operations improvement focuses on optimising processes, enhancing efficiency, and implementing best practices in international supply chain operations. Supply chain sustainability, resilience and risk management examines strategies to manage risks, ensure continuity, and incorporate sustainable practices in global operations. Strategic procurement and international logistics provides insight into sourcing, supplier management, and the effective movement of goods across complex international networks. Developing leadership capability for professional practice enables students to build essential leadership, communication, and professional skills to manage teams and projects effectively within dynamic business contexts. Research methods and analytics for business practice equips students with analytical and data-driven skills to assess supply chain performance and support informed decision-making. Academic language skills for postgraduate business students enhance communication and professional presentation. The program culminates in the Newcastle Business School masters dissertation, allowing students to undertake an in-depth research project, demonstrating critical thinking, analytical ability, and practical application of supply chain and logistics knowledge in real-world contexts.
