COURSE CURRICULUM

The Biotechnology MSc curriculum consists of core modules designed to provide a strong foundation in both theoretical knowledge and practical research skills. Each module typically carries 20 credits, with the exception of the Applied Sciences Research Project, which is worth 60 credits and serves as the central component of the program. Graduate Science Research Methods introduces essential research techniques and scientific methodologies, while Molecular Biology and Bioinformatics develop understanding of genetic processes and computational analysis of biological data. Subject Exploration allows students to investigate specific areas of interest within biotechnology, and Industrial Biotechnology focuses on the application of biological systems in industrial processes. Current Topics in Biotechnology ensures students engage with the latest developments and innovations in the field. The Applied Sciences Research Project enables students to design and conduct an independent research study, developing skills in data collection, analysis, and scientific communication. International and EU students may also take Academic Language Skills for postgraduate applied science to enhance academic writing and communication, although this module carries no credits.
