COURSE CURRICULUM

The Product Design Futures program offers a balanced combination of core and optional modules that develop both creative and technical design skills. Core modules include Design Futures with Emerging Technologies, which explores how innovations such as artificial intelligence influence design, and Research Through Design Practice, a studio-based module that builds practical research and problem-solving abilities. Sustainable and Regenerative Design focuses on environmentally responsible approaches, while Design Innovation and Brand Management examines how design contributes to business strategy and market success. Academic Language Skills for Design and Fashion, a non-credit module, supports international and EU students in improving their academic communication. Students can personalise their learning through optional modules such as Service Design, Design for Behaviour Change, Experimental Generative Design, and Smart Product Design and Practice, which allow exploration of different design specialisations. The program also offers major project and thesis options in either service design or product design, each worth 60 credits, enabling in-depth independent work on real-world challenges. Overall, the course combines theoretical knowledge, studio practice, and research, preparing students to create innovative, sustainable, and user-focused products and services in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.
