COURSE CURRICULUM

The Accounting BSc (Hons) program is designed to provide a structured and in-depth understanding of accounting, finance, and business over four years. In Year 1, students develop core knowledge through modules in mathematics and statistics, financial accounting, business law, and the global business environment, while also exploring career opportunities and building analytical skills through management accounting. Year 2 advances this foundation with more specialised topics such as financial markets, corporate governance, corporate and group accounting, applied taxation, and professional practice, alongside continued development in management accounting and analytics. Year 3 offers flexible opportunities for practical and international experience, allowing students to undertake a full work placement year, study abroad, or a blended option combining both, helping to enhance employability and global awareness. In the final year, students focus on advanced and strategic areas, including sustainable business practices, assurance, financial reporting, and financial management. They also complete a major independent project, choosing between a dissertation, management enquiry, or consultancy project, enabling them to apply their knowledge in a research or real-world context. Overall, the program equips students with strong academic knowledge, practical experience, and professional skills for careers in accounting and finance.
