COURSE CURRICULUM

The Artificial Intelligence (Extended Degree) BSc (Hons) program is structured over four years to develop both foundational and advanced skills in computing and AI. The foundation year introduces key concepts in digital technologies, programming, information systems, and physical computing, while also supporting personal and academic development. In Year 1, students build a strong core in areas such as AI fundamentals, computational thinking, programming, data fundamentals, and the social impact of computing. Year 2 expands into more specialised topics, including algorithms, human-centered AI, and data mining, while offering a wide range of optional modules such as computer vision, software architecture, data visualization, and mobile app development, allowing students to tailor their learning to their interests. Students can also engage in consultancy projects, internships, and professional practice opportunities. Year 3 provides flexibility through optional work placement or study abroad opportunities, helping students gain practical experience and global exposure. In the final year, students focus on advanced areas such as machine learning, data security, and analytics, while completing both an individual computing project and a group project. Overall, the program equips students with a comprehensive mix of technical knowledge, practical skills, and professional experience for careers in artificial intelligence and computing.
