COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Hons) Business Computing program offers a structured pathway for students to develop both technical computing skills and business understanding, preparing them for careers at the intersection of technology and enterprise. In the foundation year, students build essential skills through modules in personal, academic and skills development, digital technologies, information systems, introductory coding, digital society, and physical computing, establishing a strong base in computing concepts and practical applications. Year 1 expands this foundation with core business and computing modules, including business fundamentals, computational thinking, computers and society, computing fundamentals, data fundamentals, and programming, alongside academic language support for international and EU students. In Year 2, students deepen their expertise with modules covering business information systems, human-computer interaction, and requirements engineering, while having options to explore software architecture, computer vision, data visualization, digital forensics, mobile and web app development, and contemporary computing issues, as well as opportunities for professional practice, internships, and consultancy projects. Year 3 focuses on advanced technical and applied learning, including business intelligence, computing project work, group projects, data security and governance, and experimental design for interactive applications, allowing students to consolidate practical and research skills. Throughout the program, students engage with real-world problem-solving, teamwork, and professional practice, equipping them with both the technical competencies and business acumen required for careers in IT management, software development, business analytics, and digital consultancy, producing work-ready graduates capable of driving technological innovation within organisations.
