COURSE CURRICULUM

The Physiotherapy BSc (Hons) program is structured over three years to develop strong clinical knowledge, practical skills, and professional competence. In Year 1, students build a solid scientific foundation through modules in musculoskeletal, cardiorespiratory, and neurological anatomy and physiology, alongside learning the basics of physiotherapy practice and completing their first clinical placement. They also develop academic and professional skills to support their learning. Year 2 focuses on applying this knowledge in clinical contexts, with modules covering acute care, movement assessment, and the management of long-term conditions. Students continue to gain practical experience through a second placement and study research design and analysis, as well as the role of physical activity in promoting health. In the final year, students enhance their clinical expertise through advanced modules such as clinical reasoning, physiotherapy across the life course, and leadership preparation for professional practice. A third placement further strengthens real-world experience, while a major research project allows students to develop independent investigation skills. Throughout the course, international and EU students may receive additional academic language support, ensuring effective communication and readiness for a career in physiotherapy.
