COURSE CURRICULUM

The Physics BSc (Hons) program is structured over three years, providing a strong foundation and advanced understanding of key areas in physics. In Year 1, students are introduced to core concepts such as calculus, dynamics, particles and waves, and electricity and magnetism, alongside developing research, analytical, and experimental skills through practical modules. Year 2 builds on this foundation with more advanced topics, including higher-level mathematics, space-time, electromagnetism, quantum physics, semiconductor physics, and thermal and nuclear energy. Students also engage with integrated approaches that combine theory, computation, and experimental work, strengthening both their theoretical understanding and practical abilities. In the final year, students undertake an individual physics project, allowing them to apply their knowledge to independent research. They also study advanced core topics such as quantum devices, photovoltaics, and photonics, while choosing optional modules like fluid dynamics, dynamical systems, and space environment to tailor their studies to their interests. Throughout the course, international and EU students may receive additional academic language support. Overall, the program combines theoretical knowledge, hands-on experience, and research skills, preparing students for careers in science, technology, engineering, or further academic study.
