COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Hons) in International Business Management at Northumbria University is a three-year program designed to provide students with the knowledge, skills, and global perspective needed for careers in international business. In the first year, students build a strong foundation in business through modules on financial decision making, business analysis, global marketing and communications, the global business environment, entrepreneurship, and preparation for professional practice, with academic language support for international and EU students. The second year expands learning with core modules in strategic frameworks, international business growth strategies, managing people across borders, and business research, while offering optional modules such as international operations management, creativity and innovation, born-global enterprises, the digital economy, finance, negotiation, and a study abroad semester. This year integrates practical, conceptual, and global perspectives, enabling students to apply their knowledge to real-world business contexts. In the final year, students explore advanced topics including contemporary issues in international business, international business and innovation, and strategic management, with optional opportunities for a dissertation, management enquiry, consultancy project, studies of emerging economies, and business ethics for international management. Throughout the program, emphasis is placed on critical thinking, analytical skills, and practical application, preparing graduates to make informed business decisions across diverse international environments and to pursue successful careers in global business management.
