COURSE CURRICULUM

The Financial Mathematics BSc (Hons) program offers a rigorous and structured approach to developing expertise in both mathematics and finance. In the first year, students build a strong foundation in financial principles, business analysis, calculus, computational mathematics, probability and statistics, and real analysis, equipping them with the core quantitative and analytical skills required for the discipline. In the second year, the curriculum advances to specialized topics such as financial markets and institutions, derivatives and risk, econometrics, further computational mathematics, ordinary and partial differential equations, and statistical modeling with data visualization, enabling students to apply mathematical tools to practical financial scenarios. The third year focuses on advanced financial applications and integration of prior learning, with modules in risk management for financial institutions, investment management, data science, and a comprehensive project in financial mathematics, which allows students to explore a specific topic in depth, combining analytical rigor with research skills. Across all years, the program emphasizes the development of problem-solving abilities, quantitative reasoning, and practical application of theory, preparing graduates for careers in investment banking, risk analysis, financial consulting, and other finance-driven industries, while also providing a solid foundation for postgraduate study or research in financial mathematics and related fields.
