COURSE CURRICULUM

The Economics and Finance BSc (Hons) is structured over three years to develop strong analytical, quantitative, and professional skills in economics and finance. In Year 1, students build a solid foundation through core modules such as Introduction to Microeconomics and Macroeconomics, Financial Decision Making, and Accounting, Economics and Finance in a Global Business Environment, alongside training in mathematics and statistics and support for career development. Academic language support is also available for international and EU students. Year 2 advances this knowledge with modules including Financial Markets and Institutions, Econometrics, Intermediate Microeconomics and Macroeconomics, and Professional Practice, strengthening students’ understanding of financial systems and analytical methods. Students also have the option to study abroad, gaining valuable international experience. In Year 3, the focus shifts to advanced and applied topics such as Applied Microeconomics, Advanced Macroeconomics, Contemporary Issues in Economics and Finance, and Sustainable Development and Responsible Business. Students can further enhance their learning by completing a dissertation, management enquiry, or consultancy project, allowing them to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world problems. Across all years, the program combines academic theory with practical skills, preparing graduates for careers in finance, economics, business, and related professional fields while equipping them with the ability to analyse complex economic issues and make informed decisions.
