COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Hons) Business Computing program provides a comprehensive education combining computing, data analytics, and business management principles, preparing students for technology-driven roles in modern organisations. In the first year, students build foundational knowledge in business fundamentals, computational thinking, computing principles, data handling, programming, and the societal impacts of computing, along with support in academic language for international and EU students. The second year focuses on deepening technical and business expertise, covering core topics such as business information systems, human-computer interaction, and requirements engineering, while offering optional modules including software architecture, computer vision, data visualization, digital forensics, mobile and web app development, and contemporary digital issues. Students also have opportunities for practical experience through computing consultancy projects, internships, and professional practice projects at the London campus, fostering real-world problem-solving, teamwork, and professional development. In the final year, students consolidate their learning with advanced modules in business intelligence, data security and governance, and experimental design for interactive applications, alongside substantial computing projects, both individual and group-based, allowing them to apply their skills to complex, practical challenges. Overall, the program equips students with technical expertise, analytical skills, and professional competencies, producing graduates ready to contribute to digital transformation and innovation in diverse business and technology environments.
