COURSE CURRICULUM

The Artificial Intelligence BSc (Hons) program is structured over three years to develop strong foundations and advanced expertise in computing and AI. In Year 1, students build core knowledge through modules such as AI fundamentals, computational thinking, programming, data fundamentals, and computing systems, while also exploring the relationship between computers and society. This stage establishes essential technical and analytical skills for further study. In Year 2, students progress to more specialised topics, including algorithms, human-centered AI, and data mining, while choosing from a wide range of optional modules such as software architecture, computer vision, data visualization, mobile app development, and digital forensics. Opportunities for internships, consultancy projects, and professional development are also available, allowing students to gain practical experience and tailor their learning to career interests. In the final year, students focus on advanced and applied areas such as machine learning, data security, and analytics, while completing both an individual computing project and a group project to demonstrate their skills in real-world contexts. Optional modules like robotics and modern software development methods provide further specialisation. Overall, the program equips students with a comprehensive mix of theoretical knowledge, technical skills, and professional experience for careers in artificial intelligence and computing.
