COURSE CURRICULUM

The Accounting BSc (Hons) program is structured over three years to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of accounting, finance, and business. In Year 1, students build a strong foundation through modules in mathematics and statistics, financial accounting, business law, and the global business environment, while also exploring career pathways in accounting, economics, and finance. Management accounting and analytics are introduced to develop problem-solving and decision-making skills, and international students may take an additional academic language support module. In Year 2, the course progresses to more advanced topics, including financial markets, corporate governance, corporate and group accounting, and applied taxation. Students also continue developing professional skills and deepen their knowledge of management accounting and analytics. By Year 3, the focus shifts to strategic and contemporary issues such as sustainable business practices, assurance, financial reporting, and financial management. Students are also required to complete a major independent project, choosing between a dissertation, management enquiry, or consultancy project, allowing them to apply their learning in a practical or research-focused context. Overall, the program equips students with the knowledge, analytical abilities, and professional skills needed for careers in accounting and related fields.
