COURSE CURRICULUM

The Electrical and Electronic Engineering BEng (Hons) is a flexible program designed to develop strong technical, analytical, and practical engineering skills across multiple years of study. In Year 1, students establish a solid foundation through core modules such as Engineering Mathematics, Computer Programming, Digital Electronics and Communications, Electricity and Magnetism, Fundamentals of Energy Systems, and Research, Analysis and Presentation, with additional academic language support for international and EU students. Year 2 builds on this foundation with more advanced topics, including Advanced Engineering Mathematics, Analogue Electronics and Instrumentation, C Programming and Digital Systems, Communication Systems, Power Machines and Renewable Energy, and Electrical Product Development, strengthening both theoretical understanding and hands-on skills. In Years 3 and 4, students are given flexible options to gain practical and global experience through work placements or study abroad opportunities, either as full years or shorter semesters. These experiences allow students to apply their knowledge in real-world engineering environments, develop professional skills, and gain international exposure. Academic language support continues where required. Throughout the program, emphasis is placed on innovation, problem-solving, and the application of engineering principles to real-world challenges, preparing graduates for careers in sectors such as energy, electronics, communications, and advanced technology industries.
