COURSE CURRICULUM

The Aerospace Satellite Engineering BEng (Hons) program is structured over four years to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of engineering principles and specialised knowledge in satellite technologies. In Year 1, students build a strong foundation through modules such as materials and manufacturing, thermodynamics, engineering mathematics, electronics, and an introduction to aerospace and satellite engineering, along with programming and digital systems. Year 2 develops more advanced technical skills, covering topics like mechanics and finite element analysis, advanced mathematics, communication systems, aerospace design, satellite power systems, and C programming. Year 3 offers flexible opportunities to gain valuable practical or international experience, allowing students to choose between a full work placement year, a study abroad year, or a combination of both through semester-based options. These experiences help enhance employability and provide exposure to real-world engineering environments. In the final year, students focus on advanced and applied areas such as wireless and RF systems, satellite mission design, and space environments, while completing a major individual engineering project. Optional modules like vibration and control, embedded systems, and data science allow students to tailor their learning, preparing them for careers in aerospace, satellite engineering, and the wider space sector.
