COURSE CURRICULUM

The Electrical and Electronic Engineering BEng (Hons) is structured to develop strong technical, analytical, and practical engineering skills over three years of study. In Year 1, students build a solid foundation through core modules such as Engineering Mathematics, Computer Programming, Digital Electronics and Communications, Electricity and Magnetism, Fundamentals of Energy Systems, and Research, Analysis and Presentation, alongside academic language support for international and EU students. Year 2 builds on this knowledge with more advanced topics, including Advanced Engineering Mathematics, Analogue Electronics and Instrumentation, C Programming and Digital Systems, Communication Systems, Power Machines and Renewable Energy, and Electrical Product Development, strengthening both theoretical understanding and hands-on skills. In Year 3, students have flexible opportunities to gain practical and global experience through optional work placements or study abroad programs, either as a full year or a semester, allowing them to apply their learning in real-world engineering environments and broaden their perspectives. Academic language support continues for those who require it. Throughout the program, emphasis is placed on problem-solving, innovation, and the application of engineering principles to real-life challenges. The course prepares graduates for careers in electrical and electronic engineering, equipping them with the knowledge and experience needed to work in industries such as energy, communications, electronics, and technology.
