COURSE CURRICULUM

The Aerospace Satellite Engineering BEng (Hons) program is structured over three years to provide students with a strong foundation and advanced knowledge in engineering and space technologies. In Year 1, students develop core engineering skills through modules such as materials and manufacturing, thermodynamics, engineering mathematics, and electronics, alongside an introduction to aerospace and satellite engineering and programming. Year 2 builds on this foundation with more specialised subjects, including mechanics and finite element analysis, advanced mathematics, communication systems, aerospace design, satellite power systems, and C programming, enhancing both technical and analytical abilities. In Year 3, the focus shifts to advanced and applied topics within satellite engineering, including wireless and RF systems, satellite mission design, and the space environment. Students also complete a major individual engineering project, allowing them to apply their knowledge to a real-world or research-based problem. Optional modules such as vibration and control, embedded systems, and data science provide opportunities for further specialisation based on individual interests. Overall, the program equips students with a comprehensive blend of theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and industry-relevant experience, preparing them for careers in aerospace engineering, satellite systems, and the wider space technology sector.
