COURSE CURRICULUM

The Product Design BA (Hons) program is structured across four years to develop students’ skills in a progressive and flexible way. In Year 1, students establish a strong foundation in both practical and theoretical aspects of design through modules such as Product Skills, Product Design 101, and Product Design Playground, alongside Design History and Theory and Design Factors, while also exploring creative experimentation through the Interchange module. In Year 2, students expand their knowledge by engaging with contemporary design challenges and real-world applications, focusing on areas such as user interaction, complex problem-solving, and industry practice through modules like Designing for a Complex World, Designing Interactions, and Going Live. Year 3 offers flexibility and choice, allowing students to pursue creative studio work, gain professional experience through design placements, or broaden their perspective through study abroad opportunities. In the final year, students focus on advanced design practice, tackling future-oriented challenges and collaborative projects, and completing a major independent project supported by critical evaluation of their design process. Throughout the course, optional academic language support is available for international students, ensuring an inclusive and supportive learning experience.
