COURSE CURRICULUM

The Fashion Design and Marketing BA (Hons) program is a four-year course, including a foundation year, designed to equip students with the creative, technical, and professional skills required for careers in the fashion industry. The foundation year introduces essential design knowledge through modules in design studio skills, design contexts, specialisms, major projects, and portfolio development, helping students build confidence, creativity, and practical abilities. In Year 1, students explore experimental processes, fashion design and marketing, fashion photography and illustration, trend forecasting, product development, and introductory fashion practice, with optional language support for international and EU students. Year 2 focuses on emerging issues in the fashion sector, fashion futures, professional practice portfolios, transforming concepts into products, and market research and enterprise, integrating creative design with commercial and strategic insight. Year 3 provides opportunities for practical industry experience through optional creative studios, design placements, or study abroad programs, allowing students to apply their learning in professional contexts and gain global perspectives. In Year 4, students undertake advanced projects, including contemporary design challenges, final major project concept and realization, and professional portfolio and promotion, demonstrating technical mastery, creative innovation, and professional readiness. The program combines workshops, project-based learning, research, and industry engagement, preparing graduates to succeed as innovative designers, marketers, and professionals in the global fashion sector.
