COURSE CURRICULUM

The Digital Design BA (Hons) program is a four-year course that develops students’ creative, technical, and research skills for careers in the digital design industry. In Year 1, students establish a strong foundation through modules such as Interchange 1 – Experimental Processes, Visual Design Principles, Design for Screen, UX Design Principles and Practice, Code. Design. Make, and Personal Research Project 1, combining creative exploration with practical skills in web design and user experience. Academic language support is available for international and EU students. Year 2 builds on this knowledge with a focus on emerging technologies and advanced design methods, including modules like Interchange 2 – Emerging Issues and Practices, Sound and Motion Principles, Data Visualisation, UX Research and Design Methods, Emerging Technologies, and Personal Research Project 2, encouraging innovation and research-led practice. Year 3 offers flexibility through optional pathways such as Creative Studio projects, work placements, or study abroad opportunities, allowing students to gain professional experience and global exposure. In Year 4, students focus on advanced design challenges and independent work through modules including Interchange 3 – Contemporary Challenges and Design Futures, Design and Innovation, Research Project and Prototype, and the Final Major Project and Exhibition. Throughout the program, emphasis is placed on practical learning, critical thinking, and portfolio development, preparing graduates for careers in digital design, UX/UI, and related creative fields.
