COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Hons) Business and Human Resource Management program offers a structured pathway that combines theoretical knowledge, practical experience, and professional development to prepare students for careers in human resource management and organisational leadership. In Year 1, students gain a foundation in financial decision making, business analysis, preparing for professional practice, business, economy and society, people, management and organisations, and introduction to marketing, with academic language support available for international and EU students. Year 2 focuses on core human resource management topics such as resourcing and development for diversity, HR analytics and the labour market, reward and performance, management research and analysis, employment law, and progressing professional practice, alongside an optional study abroad semester for international exposure. Year 3 provides opportunities for practical learning and professional development through optional work placements, study abroad programs, or blended placements that combine work and international experience, allowing students to apply their learning in real-world settings. In Year 4, students explore advanced topics including strategic leadership for responsible organisational change, transforming self and organisations, contemporary issues in business and management, and employment relations, with additional optional modules covering futures of work, ethics in business, popular culture, and applied research through management enquiry, dissertation, or consultancy projects. Across all years, the program integrates academic study with practical application, equipping graduates with the knowledge, skills, and strategic insight needed to manage people effectively and contribute to organisational success.
